Awesome concept, a GI JOE themed "Full Metal Jacket" parody in the style of a military unit patch. Since I've drawn Vietnam era helmets in the past this seemed like a good fit for me. I Decided that it should be a profile shot to make it different then the others. We wanted to have a cobra on the design but couldn't figure out how. I had it coiled around skull then I was like "Duh me! The skull should be biting the cobra!" Lots of really rad bits on the helmet if ya look closely, pretty much all Ross's ideas.

    i think your style was perfect for this design. the textures you create with your linework is always so good.

    agree with ross when he says you are a very secret/under used artist for a lot of brands also. you can literally draw anything and would do so many briefs justice.

    dig this though. pulled it off well dude.

    And to add to that, this design really did turn out better than I even imagined it would. SO many references in this one. And yet it's still subtle and very much a true parody of both the show & movie. I feel like the combo is a perfect one too. And for just how much stuff this design crams together, it really did turn out slick and effortless.

    SKUMMIE is a bad ass, 'nuff said.
