The only reason they didn't take it was because of the masonic/illuminati imagery, which kinda sucks I guess haha.
You can blame some of their fans for that. They released a tour poster for their current tour and a bunch of their fans freaked out because there was Masonic imagery on it. Apparently, they thought it meant that Underoath was promoting the illuminati or that they were somehow associated with the illuminati. So, I'm guessing they didn't want that happening again.

They actually have been asking for Illuminati stuff

Yep.
And i thought fans were bitching because they thought it was satanic imagery. I saw Chris talking to fans about it on twitter. Everyone thinks the all seeing eye is satanic for some reason.

I actually based the concept for this around the tour poster, so I guess thats why they didn't want it. I don't get why fans are so up in arms about the symbolism they've been using. Their album has a lot of imagery of people's perception of the end of the world, which is why they incorporated that stuff. Oh well.

Well, there goes my theory. This is awesome. regardless. Really a bummer that they didn't approve it!
stuartpalm said:Great image! Funny that they think the all seeing eye is satanic, when it is fundamentally the eye of God, and used throughout christian history.
There's a long history of conflict between Freemasonry and the Church, and like most other things the Church has a problem with they simply label it Satanic. What's really funny is to think about how this is a METAL band and how THAT alone is what used to set off the first alarms for Christians but now it's okay.

...how this is a METAL band...
Underoath is not a metal band
Let me Google that for you... "Underoath | Illuminatour The official site for the Christian metal band from Florida. Concerts - Disambiguation - Videos - Music www.underoath777.com/"
as well as others with masonic symbols but I have to question what is it promoting? I'm not a mason, so I wouldn't buy a shirt that had a predominant Masonic symbol. I think it's a cool trend among designers, but I don't think a lot of ppl want to rep it. Have not seen any on the streets...

either way, great work.
at least the Masons aren't like the Hells Angels who would basically make you take it off where you stood or they'd take it off for you.
There are a lot of derivative Masonic looking designs going around for sure, lots of pyramids, triangles, keys, and all seeing eyes, but this one is straight up the compass and square.
