Maybe I'm misinformed, but your halftones are creating a moiré, which I thought caused a poor print because of the way the ink flows? Whenever I halftone a design with more than 1 color, I always get a moiré patter no matter how I adjust the angle and I assumed I was doing something wrong. So is it actually not a problem?

do you use a rip software? I think that usually handles that if you have it set to the right LPI

It's a stylistic choice. I use large halftones in some of my work as well.
