BEASTWRECK SHIRTS & STUFF's third launch design! Available at the BeastWreck shop (follow the link above).
This design is based on a recently discovered rare Japanese print which is rumored to have contributed to Toru Iwatani's inspiration for the genesis of Pac-Man (the character was not inspired by a simple pizza, as often rumoured). It was a print that had been in his family for generations, but had been lost in a warehouse shortly after his tragic suicide.
Here we see the four elemental oni hovering menacingly over our lone samurai hero. Iwatani used the colors of the oni and translated them to the necessarily more simple shapes of the ghosts Kimagure, Oikake, Machibuse and Otoboke (or, as they were known in America: Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde) The design on the samurai's pants would, of course, directly inspire the maze design chosen for the game.
8-color design discharge/soft ink screenprinted on yellow or black. 1-color BeastWreck logo printed on back.
