said: looks sweet! how can they not like this yet have gay type based tees thats say 'bmth makes me wet' madness. good work anyway bro (Y) because they understand the phrase target audience
dobi said: i thought it was a mumford, regardless, pretty awesome.
i thought the same thing!
the only thing i'm not diggin is the font. everything else is a purely amazing illustration, and i just feel that the type is to out of place looking. i think if you hand drew the type then this would be a perfect piece. i am still wild about the illustration though!
alexcampbellart said: you are the raddest, and it sucks that if stuff has lots of lines people are like "OMGMUMFORD". I really don't think the two are that similar.
hey thanks everybody! i was prepared for the barrage of comments about this being mumford-ish, but i would also say that just like dobi didn't invent silhouettes, mumford didn't invent intricate line work.
i also agree with the text thing, i was under a time crunch and just slapped it on (i know, a no no), and if i sell it to someone else i will probably hand-draw it for sure.

I apologize on my part if the mumford comment sounded like a bad thing. I guess it's one of those quick generalizations you make when you dont see a lot of other artists investing so much care into intricate pieces like you have done, ya know. But honestly i've come back to this design so many times today, and i'm very surprised it was not accepted. I know it will find a good home though, and the hand drawn text that you plan to add is going to rule!!

hey no problem man! i don't exactly take being compared to mumford as a bad thing...but i just don't want people to think i'm "ripping his style."
yeah man, i hear ya there. i didn't see this as being a rip at all though. i guess it was more of a shock to click on it and see that someone besides Dan actually went into incorporating such detail for the linework.
i love your style though dude. you've definitely got a ton of talent! keep up the amazing work!

I'll have you know that i patented 'Intricate line based tees' last year, so expect a court summons to come through your door next week......
Japes aside, i dig it! I say put the extra time in to pieces, looks like it was made with <3

dobi said: yeah, i didn't mean anything negative by it, the rest of your illustration work is really varied so i know you aren't trying to jock his stuff.
yeah man, totally. im trying to find my own recognizable style, and part of that right now is doing more intricate/complicated pieces.
