UPDATE (Last Day): Merit Is Cause Design - Indiegogo & Brand Video
Posted December 5th, 2012 by David Merritt
Howdy peeps! I hope all is well with everyone. I just wanted to share a new venture I'm working on called Merit.
Merit is cause design. We create fashionable products that help disadvantaged youth get to college by donating 20% of your purchases to fund college scholarships. In addition, it's important for us to provide resources and opportunities for underserved youth to gain college admission. Therefore, we've launched FATE (Day 1 Recap), our very own education program with Detroit's Jalen Rose Leadership Academy, preparing the next generation to embrace their education and become world class citizens.
However, in order to officially launch Merit, we need the proper funding. We are in the midst of a crowdfunding campaign at http://indiegogo.com/merit. From now until December 21st, you'll be able to grab Merit product (designed by the amazing menswear designer, Detroit native, and NBC Fashion Star finalist, Nzimiro Oputa), help us manufacture the line, and raise money for underserved youth to go to college. (Close to 40 options to choose from in debut line)
Any support you can give, even if it's just a tweet, is much appreciated. Thank you so much for your time.
PS. Shout out to David Smith who has his hands on all of this. Branding, most tee designs, etc. He's the man and we wouldn't be here without him. Check out our Brand Lookbook that he designed as well.

UPDATE:
Sorry for the delay. Wanted to let you guys know sooner that Merit's Indiegogo Campaign was coming to a close. But today's the last day to grab a piece of our debut launch collection. We've added some awesome perks, including our hat collaboration with Ebbels Field Flannels and our very own custom bookbag. Would appreciate any/all support. You guys are awesome.

Appreciate the kind words! We're passionate about igniting youth around education. And it's win-win because we love fashion/style and believe it's a perfect avenue to spread our message. Thanks for taking a look!
