    No, it's the web site design a client stiffed us on.

    @Dylan we love you

    I wasn't trying to say anything negative, sorry if it came off that way! I knew what was up, I just worded it weirdly.

    I hate being "that" guy, but I really don't find your new site appealing at all. I'm sure there's kinks still being worked out (slideshow, preview images, blog thumbnails, etc.) but I just feel like it lacks personality, and the styling is all over the place.

    First of all, I think the textures are excessive, and it doesn't feel cohesive. You've got the diagonal bars, grid pattern, the orange peel noise texture on the ribbon, the tape, paper, etc. In design I think every detail should serve some sort of function, but I feel like most of these textures are superfluous. I feel like if you practice a little more restraint, you can probably make your content pop a little bit more.

    The site feels very wordpress template-y. I know it's custom, but I just don't get the feel that it's a unique virtual storefront. It looks more like a blog site that happens to sell stuff. I feel like you should place your products at the forefront if you're trying to sell stuff.

    The navigation is very bizarre with the inset scratched thing. I don't understand the function of it at all. It's also strange how it repeats even though it's a seemingly random scratch pattern. I also don't like how the scratches overlap when one is in it's active state. If you're trying to create the impression that the scratch is set in the bar, it doesn't make sense for them to overlap.

    Sorry if I'm being overly critical. FWIW, I work as a UX/UI interface designer, so I probably care a bit more than the average consumer. I just feel like you can fix up a lot of things and make your brand way more appealing. I hope you understand that I'm not trying to be an asshole, I just find interface design very interesting, so I just wanted to give you some shit to think about. Good luck!

    Unfortunately I'd have to agree with what Ray said. All parts are great, but a lot of them don't work well together.

    Agreed, very visually busy, and hard to establish an order of importance.

    This is mintees i expect and appreciate critiques.

    I can see what you are getting at and appreciate all the points you have made. I love the site visually and think it is a lot more professional than my previous one. I do see the "blog that sells stuff" vibe going on. But mostly just because of the homepage.

    Do you feel that it is the home page that makes it feel like that or the site in general?

    I love it style wise but can see how its hard to visualize an order of importance. Would having the shop as the home page and cutting out the current home help or hurt the site more?
  • SashaBloom

    You need your lookbook images on the front page. So customers know what your selling.
  • Perception Apparel

    The pictures are still being taken and the slide show on the home page will have product shots instead of the logo image. But i could think about the homepage being the actual look book as well.
