I received this weird email about buying whole sale shirts from me. The whole interaction has seemed sketchy and I have been being very careful. Finally they mention western union and that normally means scam in most cases. Has anyone received this email? Is this just me or is this sketchy?

Email 1:

I hope this message finds you well. After viewing your page, I am interested in placing an order for some items. I'd like to know;

1.) What you have in stock
2.) If there are any special pricing/discounts. I hope to establish a long term business relationship with you and would appreciate any form of discounts.
> > 3.) What mode of payment is most convenient for you. I could provide my credit card details to a secure e-mail address you provide for payment.

Will be looking to read from you. Till then,

Many Blessings.

Email 2:

Hi,
Hope this message finds you well, here are the list of items i want:

Keep Moving Forward
QTY:24

More Than Just A Dreamer
QTY:24

Mind over Matter
QTY:24

SHIPPING ADDRESS:
Calle del Templo no. 2
ES-28030 Madrid
Spain

Please kindly calculate the total cost of the items,so that you can get the order processed for me.i will email you my credit card account information for the payment of the order.
Concerning the shipment, the likes of UPS, DHL and others always don't take care of the charges down here.Charges like handling, customs and duties etc. We have experienced such situation before and i don't want to experience such thing again, you do not need to worry about the stress involve and all documentations because i have a shipping company that have delivered to me in the past,i really like their services so i will be having my shipping agent come to pickup the order directly from you because i already have some large merchandise with them in which after picking up the items they will then deliver it to me here in Spain. So i want you to get back to me with the size and weight items.

Email 3:

Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me on time.
I live and work here in Spain.
I will have the order picked up from your facility.
I have made an arrangement for the pick up of this order right from your store thru my shipping agent in order to avoid the shipping responsibilities and difficulties that might be experienced in shipping of these type of items to me in Spain, out of Canada and USA.
The Shipping Agent have all the documents and permits required for the exportation of these type of items. They will handle all the custom duties and insurance as well because all will be dully paid for by me. They have got similar items shipped to me here successfully.
Having discussed with the Shipping Agent, the nature, weight, size and quantity of these items, I was charged $420.00 USD for the shipping cost.
I will need you to do me a favor as explained below :
This shipping agency is not set up to receive payment via credit card, so I am asking for you to charge my credit card to the grand total cost and then send the shipping part of the whole payment to the shipping agency's office in the USA via Western Union Money Transfer and their representative in USA will come for the pick up.

Here is the breakdown of the total amount of money you are expected to charge from my credit card:
TOTAL COST FOR THE ITEMS : $621
SHIPPING FEE : $420.00
CREDIT CARD SURCHARGING FEE : $40.00(FOR THE SHIPPING FEE)
WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFER FEE:$50.00
THE GRAND TOTAL COST : $1131 USD
I will send you my credit card number for you to be able to get this full payment charged instantly as well as the shipping fees.

I will send you my MASTERCARD credit card for the whole payment both for the items and the shipping cost.

As soon as I have the receiver information for the shipping fee from the shipping agency , I will forward it to you as well.
As soon as the shipping agency in USA has received the shipping fund, their representative in USA will schedule the time for the pick up and then come to your facility for the pick up.
WHEN CAN I SEND IN MY CREDIT CARD FOR THE FULL PAYMENT ???
I am waiting to hear back from you soonest.

First off it shouldnt cost $420 to ship 72 t-shirts. They're just making up a random ass high number so that you might be more likely to take it.

Second, anytime it gets more convoluted than "I give you money, you mail me shirts" it is a scam.

Thirdly, anytime I get an email that says something like "god bless you" or "many blessings" or mentions god or blessings in any way shape or form, its a scam.

Send this piece of crap a picture of tub girl and tell them to suck your nuts

We've received similar emails about printing absurdly large quantities of shirts (10,000 shirts with a picture of someone's grandfather on it for a "large family gathering"), giving them to a courier and wiring shipping costs.

I also find it bizarre and EXTREMELY hard to believe that a Mormon temple is their shipping address. You can't even step foot inside an LDS temple unless you are a church member and go through a long process to be deemed worthy to enter. Temples are serious business in LDS culture. I really don't think having a personal shipment of merchandise sent to a temple would fly, even if they were a member of the church. Really weird.

Also everytime i see a whole sentence capitalized i tend to mark it as spam.
  • SashaBloom

Just see if there email matches the one on that website. That will say if its a scam or now. Or give that number a call.

Anyone that ends an email with "MANY BLESSINGS" should usually be ignored.
