**Update 8/1**

We've got great news! It looks like we may be able to migrate to the new system as early as tomorrow (Thursday)! It's likely we'll be able to push live with a fancy new feature for you guys, too.

Cool new things about this new Mintees framework:

- Less buggy vague 404 errors
- More reliable database in general, less lock up
- New and improved search processing (theoretically provides more accurate search results, quicker)
- Repaired "Watch this thread" bugs and logic
- Fixed modify tee image bug
- Updated password recovery logic
- Quicker and more reliable tee and avatar load times
- Mystery new feature



*Update 7/25*

We're making great progress, but things keep popping up as we plug along. We're most likely going to be doing the migration on Monday or Tuesday of this coming week. I'll know more tomorrow. We have a really cool feature ready to roll out at the end of next week, so get excited!

Additionally, I'm looking for more error message graphics if you guys are interested in contributing. You can post them here and discuss amongst yourselves. Obviously Greg's "scheduled downtime" image is happening!



Early, mid or late this coming week we're going to roll out the site using a completely new framework.

Mintees will be down briefly while we do a final data migration from the old database to the new database.

We're switching frameworks the site lives on because we aren't happy with what we originally built on. We were really rushed when Emptees announced it was going down, so we made do with what worked at the time.

With this new system structure, it will be much easier for us to develop new features and keep things stable for everyone (not that we all don't love Mr. Abbott's 404 monster).

If anyone is interested in making a "We'll BRB" images for me to throw in a rotation to display at random that day, feel fee to post them here. Make sure they're on a white background.

I'll update this thread as we get closer to knowing exactly when we'll take things offline. As always, you can follow us on Twitter and Facebook.

    I'm not sure if this matches your vision, but I drew it on a whim yesterday. So it was easy enough to change the text to something appropriate. The concept is based off a Gre Hale tattoo. Feel free to use it.

    Very cool, I want more for general site errors, guys! Remember, we don't have scheduled downtime often, so that isn't going to be seen as much as errors (hopefully never, but you get the idea)

    Make sure you put a tiny tasteful tag so you have credit on the image ;)

    It's for web, so... actual dimensions at 72 dpi. or bigger to be safe, you know, but retina display users.

    It's too bad that emptees domain doesn't auto direct people to mintees. If it did, when mintees went down, we could have it direct back to emptees, and create a black hole.
