So I am starting a new technoqueer charity http://queerengineer.org to support lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender, and queer initiatives and student groups at technical colleges. I am an engineer by trade and graphic design and activism are just my hobbies. Looking for some good cheap printers that can do six color on American Apparel products. Also looking for design critiques and any tips or tricks you feel might be helpful. I currently have the website setup using WordPress with the PageLines theme and JigoShop plugin for my eCommerce solution. Thanks in advance.

    When youre ready to show the designs you have, your best bet would be to post them here: http://mintees.com/talk/194684-official-critiques-wanted-post/71

    As for the printers, im sure some will make themselves known in this thread, but its always worth using the search bar in the top right corner; youll find heaps of previous discussions on the matter.

    So far I've posted designs here http://mintees.com/tees/353780-queer-engineer and here http://mintees.com/tees/353779-queer-aerospace-engineer.

    I've been going through the resources there is definitely a lot to sift through lol.

    And for any printers reading the price to beat is $350 for 25 American Apparel model 2001 with 6 inks including screens.

    just a heads up, a lot of printers would charge that as a 7 color since if using normal inks you will need an under base.

    Good to know. I wish I knew any easy way to adapt the design for less colors without losing the message.

    I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but I think you would be better suited taking a some extra time to develop the website and tees. There are several non profits out there that focus on glbt initiatives but, in my opinion, none of them have visuals that really shine. If you spend the extra time and really get your stuff to the next level, you could have a better chance of grow, rather than just staying small scale.

    I would also try to figure out a way to cut down the cost, even if it means cutting a color or two somehow. 4 color process, dtg, or something. At a cost of $14 a shirt (+ screen fees, shipping from the printer, etc), you're going to have very little left on a $20 sale.

    Hey! I don't really have any advice for printers, but I wanted to send some lasers of love to another queer tee project. For real! Best friends stick together! <3

    @justinryan Thanks for the advice.

    What do people think are things I could do to bring my stuff to "the next level?"

    @WLH@ Thanks for the love. ^_^/
