Well, just outside of Austin. I needed acreage for my critters. Anyone else in Austin?
  • DCAY

Justin Ryan just moved there recently. I would love to live there, great city.
  • cityhall

Awesome! I live in Houston but I drive up to Austin a butt ton. It might sound lame and cliche but it really is a creative city.
  • bmoore

Leaving the rural parts of Illinois? How could you!
  • Frenden

I know! I want more opportunity than Illinois' withered husk can provide. I've already sucked the marrow out of this state.

Casey, we'll have to meet up!

If anyone is looking for an in-house art-monkey, I'm open to offers. I'd like some stability after the move, I think.
  • mhooper

I'm in College Station if you ever head east.
  • Setup85

I live close. The hipsters will eat you.
  • Frenden

Noted, mhooper - I'm sure I will at some point.

    I'm near Georgetown.
  • mhooper

Brady Clark is in Georgetown as well. Rad dude.
  • Frenden

I keep meaning to holler at him. We keep hitting each other for five minutes when neither of us has any time, haha.

Brady Clark is opening up a Co-Op space for designers, artists, ect. Definitely worth checking out!
  • Frenden

I nabbed him on Twitter about thirty minutes ago. I'll definitely bend his ear.
  • justinryan

Awesome dude. Def set up shop at the co-op with Brady, Larry Murray and me!

    Would love to!

Thinking about heading that way in a year. My only concern is that market may be flooded with designers. I hear it's already a mecca. Should I try to head somewhere else that may be currently growing as far as design jobs are concerned?

Austin is the fastest growing city in America right now. While I think that would normally mean that jobs are filling up quickly, I think the job market is growing just as rapidly and its really the reason everybody is flocking there. Its like a gold rush but there's actually enough gold for everyone.
  • Lmerrill

That's good to know. I hope I can figure something out. I need out of here.
  • vinbasshred

I'm in Houston too. Austin is way nicer of a place. I just don't have a solid network there like I do here, but time for change will come eventually...

Would be cool to have more artist friends out there. we should hang and sketch or party or something!

good luck on the move. :)
  • SugarCoated

    Congrats!!
  • brain & machine

Awesome! I am central Austin right now. Would love to be further North where your going to be. MBrady's co-op space is pretty rad. Would love to make the move to join, but we are stuck here for now.

Enjoy it! Texas will treat you well my friend.
  • cmeyers

i get so mad when i look at apartment costs there. orange county is a joke. $1995 for a mediocre 3 bedroom. i don't surf so i could care less about the beach. but i will say the weather is amazing. is austin humidity tolerable?
  • Eric Larson

I live in Waco which is 1 1/2 north of ATX. Austin is an amazing city I've been trying to get my girlfriend to move there for years.
