Kinda surprised there's been no Prometheus talk around here. Have you seen it? What did you think?

Since seeing it, I've been following some online discussions here and there and I am shocked at the amount of downright HATRED there is for this movie. People are ranting and raving about how "terrible the writing is" and how the film is riddled with "plot holes." The amount of silly nit-picking is hilarious. Can't remember the last time people got so riled up over a movie.

I felt like I watched an entirely different film. I loved it. It certainly wasn't what I expected and I had to take a few days to "digest" everything before deciding that I loved it but that's nowhere near a bad thing. Without getting too spoil-y, the film does answer some lingering questions about the "Alien" universe but those answers only bring even more and even larger questions. I personally love movies that make me think and that stick with me for days afterwards. I also appreciate films and stories that don't wrap everything up in a neat little package. Many of the questions Prometheus raises will have to be thought about and ultimately answered by the viewer themselves. Which I think is awesome. Religious and mythological themes and under-tones also run DEEP in Prometheus. There are so many facets to this movie that it's nuts. And I think that's why so many people don't like it; Too mysterious, too complicated. That and disappointment that it wasn't the ALIEN movie they were expecting.

Blows my mind that Ridley created such a crazy and huge story out of what was simply a set-piece from a small scene in the first film. I'm looking forward to seeing it again. And crossing my fingers that Ridley makes the rumored second half of this, I WANT MOAR.

What did you guys think? Love it or hate it, you have to admit that it was beautiful look at, haha.

Been an amazing summer for movies so far!
