When you guys are going to release a new line, what's your opinion on releasing your entire collection at once or half of your collection one week and the other half a few weeks later?
Is one way more professional than the other?

Also, after you've released your collection, how do you feel about releasing a "limited edition" product in the middle of the season? For example, a limited edition t-shirt inbetween the Summer and Fall season?

Just wanted some input and opions on this, thanks!

I've never heard of releasing half a line at a time. Seems like a weird idea. I wouldn't say it's unprofessional. But you could be missing out on some potential sales. You're kinda asking people to buy stuff now, then come back in a few weeks and buy more stuff. (And pay shipping twice) Whereas if you release it all at once people might make bigger purchases on the spot. I personally would get it out there all at once or just save the rest for a different release. For me, one big and well planned/presented release makes more sense than two smaller, close together releases.

As for releasing shirts or limited items here and there, I do it all the time. It's fun and keeps eyes on your brand in between big releases.

Bottom line though - Do whatever you want! It's your brand and you can run it however you see fit. =)

its your choice.. both are same same to me. i think releasing one limited product is nice especially if theres strong interest in your brand but with saying that.. all small clothing brands are really limited... 50-100 pieces is limited and thats usually what little brands put out x

    i dont fucking know.

i don't have a brand but i do agree with just releasing it at once especially if its a theme or something, i personally like to see a whole range straight up

I think it depends on how much merch you are dropping... Dropping like 2 shirts one week and another 2 shirts four weeks later seems a bit pointless but say you were releasing a spring summer collection and you released a few shirts, a hat and say a windbreaker(something more spring appropriate) then waited a few weeks to drop a few more shirts and maybe some board shorts or tanks for summer. It's nice to only shoot one look book for both seasons but splitting the spring / summer release up makes sense to keep people interested and coming back to your site. As for the limited edition stuff I think its a cool idea if its done right, meaning not just a shirt you made less of but actually putting some extra effort into packaging extras, quality, etc something that sets it apart from your normal line not just the fact that there was less of them made....

I've never seen a major line do a staggered release like that, it's counter-productive in every way I can think of.

Supreme always has 2 drops a few weeks apart.

While I think splitting up a spring and summer release makes sense if you have a big enough line, I don't see any benefits to doing a partial release then waiting two weeks and doing the second half. Seems like it would create a whole lot of extra work for really no benefit, but whatever works.

And there's the reasoning behind the original question. I'd say one big one is better

agreed, supreme will sell out no matter what they put out so maybe they just like to give the hypebeasts a few weeks to get another paycheck.....

Legit, thanks for the input guys! Much appreciated :)

I'm definitely leaning towards releasing everything at once. I've never heard of a brand releasing a few here and there either...Some friends brought the idea to me, saying if released in pieces, it would make more sales...but something doesn't feel right, going that route.
