I came across this and I was blown away. Especially compared to the rest of the NBA this is just great! Someone said that the new logo was designed in part by Jay-Z but don't hold me to that. Interesting stuff.

    I am honestly pissed about these. As a nets fan I was excited about the move to BK until the logo and color scheme was out. It's lazy and lacks creativity.

    It's really simple, and the color scheme is nice... but I think they could've been more creative with it. But in comparison to other NBA or sports logos, it's nice to see a more simply designed athletic logo.

    The second one appeals to me, but I don't think clean and minimal when I think about a sports team logo. Lets hope the uniforms are MUCH more exciting!

    I think it portrays an old Brooklyn sports team feel. Doesn't fit in at all with any other NBA logo though, maybe the Sixers

    I think it's good, not great. If Jay-Z really did all the design work on it, I would say I'm impressed at his ability to bust lines.

    They had originally hired Adidas to do their identity and the design team here in Indy was in charge of it. They worked for several months and came up with some amazing stuff, but at the last minute the Nets decided to hire Jay-Z's company to do it instead. Basically, Jay-Z's company threw this together last minute and the Nets gave it the green light. You should have seen what the team here at Adidas came up with that the Nets turned down...SO much better.

    Pretty sure I couldn't post pictures of the logos even if I had them on hand. Adidas is really strict about disclosing that type of information. I'd probably get fired for giving away the secrets of their creative process or something. You'll just have to take my word for it.

    Honestly, I don't think it looks good at all. Simple and clean works, but this is just eh. I would've thought they would've gone with something better. Oh well.

    My co-worker, Billy did the Gorilla Biscuits logo. You can see that all over the internet. He also showed me a new banner thing he's working on for them. Doesn't relate to this, but it's awesome.

    This logo looks better than 70% of the other NBA logos. It's looks timeless and awesome integrated on all the products.

    Just because it doesnt have gradients and 6 different colors doesnt mean its crap.

    Well the Brooklyn Nets shirt at the top that is going after the super vintage look just fails IMO.

    I think going with this logo is 99% PR move to bring a bit more Brooklyn into the team by flaunting "Hey look, it's Jay-Z!"

    I'd like to see that shit too. But I think this overall identity fits the city and works pretty great. And last minute? They announced Jay-Z working on this over 8 months ago, and I'm sure it was under way before that.

    I think they should make the second one their primary logo. I actually like them. Like what jeff said it has a really timeless look to it and i like the black and white color scheme. Looks good on the products too. Let's hope the Uniforms would look good too.

    The second logo that is posted up top will be on the center of the court in the new arena. Jay-Z had is hand in everything as far as the logo and color scheme. He said he drew inspiration from the 1950 NYC Transit system all white tiles with black markings. I still think its too simple and I'm unimpressed.

    Pretty interesting that it is about 50/50 of the people that love or hate the new logo and color scheme.

    When you talk about lazy design, nothing screams pure lazy like Oklahoma City Thunder's colors and logo. Super awful!

    I really like the look of the new Nets stuff because of how clean and simple it is. I would have really liked to see the other logos they tried too.

    yeah, I don't completely hate it but I'm not a fan. also, not sure if I'm down with just black and white. makes me think of the Heat jerseys that are black and white, which I don't like. I did see someone make a few slight changes to the shield and incorporate the Brooklyn bridge, and it looked good. Here is an article on them "dropping the ball" with the logos and some input from Jon Contino.
