i have CS5 but CS3 seems so much smoother/faster for me and works the best so i never open CS5.

Will probably get CS6 in 5-8 years.

I'll probably wait and see what people think. I got/kept CS5 just because its so much faster than CS4, for me. If people think it's worth it, I'll give it a go. If they haven't done anything to improve tablet sensitivity/mark making, then I'll pass.

CS3 FO' LIFE

Maybe once they fix the massive amounts of bugs in CS5 I might consider it. Our art dept laughed as soon as we saw this. Fix CS5 first! Kthx.

Right now I use CS 5 just to see what it brings, but I'm still in love with CS 2.
Maybe I give CS6 a chance, but CS 2 always worked out fine for me. :)

The only thing about 5 that makes it worth having is fill content aware, and I use that maybe once or twice a month. (Although the auto guides in InDesign CS5 are pretty awesome for quickly getting things accurately lined up.)

I'm still with CS4 and hate it a bit.
Why is that people like more about CS3?

Had cs3 upgraded to cs5 will be waiting at least one more might download the trail just to see it though.

i like it... much faster than previous versions for some technical reason which is allegedly groundbreaking. i havent read up on it, will wait for merkinson to inform us all.

alot of the updates seem to be refining existing tools, which im all for. handles type far better now

the big step up in my opinion is the interface (once youve changed from the quite frankly horrid dark grey theme back to the original palette). much more streamlined, less clutter, just better all round.

will keep cs5 at the moment as its obviously only a beta, but its very promising.

(dont think de blur is in it yet though).

i prefer 4 over 5, but i have to use 5 for photo editing since 4 literally didn't support nikon's raw format. at all.

i used it all day yesterday and ma really diggin it. definitely faster on my machine (aluminum imac with 8gb memory).

at least a dozen new features that are super useful in my routine, but the biggest one for me is that the brush size is now doubled (from 2,500 to 5,000px). i have dozens of brushes that i've created for texturing, so it will be rad to recreate them much larger

Yeah its definitely much faster, im liking the new color scheme too.

It is one of the biggest upgrades they have made to the suite. Totally worth the upgrade. get the fuck out of here.

Somebody break it down to us, what has changed? WHAT makes it worth it? I want to hear from us people who use it for similar purposes, not from some adobe sponsored website.

I was talking about the full price. Actually I just did one fast design in it to test it, so I hadn't the time to test all functions + I didn't see the video to it so see whats new and whats not. :)

First impressions: I like it.

I've been using CS4 since 2009 and never had complaints, but I wouldn't mind switching.

I started on cs5, so I have no idea what i'm missing. Is it really that much worse than the older ones?

5 was wonky, been stuck in 4 for too long. I don't think you could rotate the view in PS CS3, could you? that's why I've stuck with 4. The type tool is ridiculous bad tho.

Does the beta version effect the use of your current CS?

nope - no effect. can use both at the same time if you wanted to.

i've been using it on everything for the past 3 days - definitely faster than before. I'll most likely upgrade next time I get a new computer.

context - i dug/still dig cs5. cs4 was always a little buggy for me, and i sort of wished i had just stuck with cs3 at that point.

never understood why this wasn't added much sooner. even something like Corel Draw had this feature for probably 20 years.

cs5 is my first legal copy of photoshop so i think I'm going to stick with it a bit longer

Guys I seriously need someone to help design a pimp my ride logo like font for me on photoshop I have GIMP 2.6 but its no use :(.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I would like someone with CS6 to confirm or deny something for me. I use paths somewhat often in photoshop, does CS6 have the option to change your path color? This would be extremely helpful, and I can't believe they haven't had this available.

Is anybody else having problems with how much memory it's using? I was editing a decently large file, but only like 10 layers last night and PS was running pretty slow. I opened the Task Manager, and it was using over 1,000,000 K in memory. I closed the program and opened the same file in CS5, and it only used maybe 100,000 K in memory tops. I haven't had a chance to play with the settings/preferences yet but has anyone else encountered this issue? I'm using Windows 7 with 6GB RAM.

No matter what version PS I use, it always has that problem. The only solution I've ever found is restarting the program.
