1. Much more traffic/activity at Emptees. Took round about 170 loves to get TOTD there, takes about 70ish here. 2. Its practically a repost. I loved it many a years ago, i dont need to reitterate my love for it now.

^ That and changing trends. A couple years there were a lot more shirts with bright colours

The biggest reason is probably the approval process. I can see a lot of would be regulars completely avoiding the site because their work will never be approved.

might be. you have to realize, emptees was just a dumping ground. and before flagging, the front page would change like 2x a day, it was impossible to keep up, especially since 90% of it was crap.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the approval process is bad. The site completely needed it and Mintees is much better because of it. I can just see how potential users would get turned off by it and avoid the site.
as for the approval process being a reason for an established artist to avoid the site, i disagree. the mods have been quick to auto approve certain members and when a known artist posts, they allow them the ability to post without being approved. as rob said, emptees turned into a dumping ground of terrible art and flagging was a full time job. this place may not have as much activity for likes, but there are a ton of people checking it out daily and not contributing.

I was mostly referring the the terrible artists who would post crap designs and try to sell them for $50. How much of Emptees traffic was from those people? Since flagging was a full time job, I imagine a good chuck of the traffic came from those users. I can't imagine any of them making the transfer to here. I could even see established artists leaving the site if they had a few designs rejected.

All you need to say is, people are pussies and don't take rejection well. I've been rejected here, but that doesn't gonna mean that I'm going to stop visiting the site, it just means I'm gonna work harder and try again.
I think moving forward since the life cycle of Emptees, users just have a little bit of a higher standard when admitting to a "Like/Love" these days. Times change, trends change, personal tastes change. I find it interesting as well, but so it goes I guess.
I agree with much of what has been said here. The quality has increased and the standards of the users has increased, like Sean said, giving the 'like' more value than before.
Also, come on.. you expected a 4 year old design to get as much love as when it was fresh?
Yes, maybe the 4 years made the difference, even though i don't consider this design style is something that was a trend then and now isn't, It's an old ,still used theme,CMYK ,and actually it's a different design, even similar to previous version.I think lot of people from the past are not active here because of the strict approval process for the designs.I now all the discussions on that subject, but i still think that the approval process is very subjective .I've had some design that wasn't approved here, and i felt somehow that is unjust ,the designs were in a similar style with other designs approved and appreciated here Not mentioning that the designs were already printed and for sale, for a well known brand.yes it's great that the t-shirt section isn't full of crap, but i still hope something will change.I'm discouraged to send new designs for approval now,and i know i'm not the only one, i consider myself at least a medium level designer.and if 50 % from my work is rejected, somehow i see this website ,only for the elite of the designers, but looking at the tees section, i see it isn't.I know that nobody will miss me, or other guys that are in the same position ,here, but if more and more guys will stop be active here ......

This. I hate to see that you don't get the recognition you deserve esspecially since you have such an impressive portfolio and you are crazy talented.
But Mintees is more about trends you will notice most of the tees in the voting section have something in common either the style or the minimalism, Highly detailed work doesn't do well nowadays. I see artists as Qetza Cryface or Vad_ns being completly ignored. Sadly your style is what the mods wil probably call an unfitted style"for a t-shirt, even if you proved over the time that your art looks killer on a shirt. It's retarded that work that is printed and for sale get rejected.
Even so, you will still be a great artist and i will forever remember how mindblown i was when i saw your work on DBH:)
I did not know Emptees (i was to young). Mintees is great but maybe there is less people because n the new members are often rejected. In the section "Official Critics" the oldest and more qualified are often nasty derisive and do not really give advice from their experience. They just say "it's ugly" or "don't use this font it's an horror". After that i think nobody wants to comes again.

This ^^^ and you gotta be "Friends" with some of the mods or big shots to get designs approved or auto approve. Some designs on the tee section ain't that great or impressive as some people or (mods) think they are. It is what it is here on Mintees. Still way better than Emptees.
Dont take the site too seriously guys. Just because few people are clicking the "like" button doesnt mean your participation and artwork being posted isnt appreciated.
I usually forget to click "like" or just click it for tees i would actually buy when they are released.
And the mini-mods do the majority of the voting for what gets approved unless it is something really terrible which gets denied by a mod. If your stuff is getting rejected, dont pack up and leave, just keep posting other stuff. Everyone isnt going to like everything you create, and even some people on auto approve post shitty stuff (by my personal tastes). It is just a tee design site and at the end of the day, nothing is stopping you from making your designs/doing what you love.
And as for the designs being printed/approved that still get rejected - I dont think it really matters because we have all seen some really ugly and mediocre shit approved by bands/companies. Just because the band likes it doesnt mean everyone on Mintees will.
Dont get upset over what people on a forum are saying to you. No one here is out to purposely hurt feelings or deny people things. We are all talking through comment boxes and avatars. Nothing to get upset over.
Anyway, i didnt like the tee in the original post because i just dont like the tee. Not my style at all and i would not wear it. Execution is great though and i think you are a great artist. But in the end, it just wasnt anything i would care to purchase/see in my "liked" tees section.

and this: http://mintees.com/tees/349350-death-spell could have been done by the same artist. and for me i would have rejected them on the grounds that they bring absolutely no worth to the site. the profiles do not get involved in the talk section, nearly all of the comments they make are reserved to their own pieces and you can see the type of user who comments on the work. further more nearly ALL of the work that is posted like this is "for sale"
this is a community and i think all of the mods try to further its worth.
now, i agree that sometimes stuff can go wrong, and not everything i wrote above applies to everyone who has been rejected but it is very hard to keep everyone happy.
it would be so much easier if we just approved everything that wasnt blurry. but that would be Emptees, and everyone hated that by the end.
