Hey All

Just want to let you know that we have launched our brand new site.

It's really simple. We wanted to create a place where people could find all sorts of awesome t-shirts available to buy online. We don't sell the t-shirts ourselves, our website is like a massive shop window where clothing companies, record labels or bands can display their t-shirts and promote their web stores. We created Show Me Tees to be free from favouritism, hence the 'shuffle' button, which randomises the t-shirts and displays them in a new order every time you click it.

We only have a few rules, one t-shirt per company/label/band and each t-shirt must be in stock and available to buy, no previews and no designs for sale. Lastly each design must be displayed on the t-shirt template on the submit page. We charge a small admin fee of £2 for each t-shirt we host, and each t-shirt stays up for a month at a time.

So far we have shirts from the likes of Dan Mumford, Metallica, RHCP, Gallows, Blink 182, and a few others.

We'd love you to be part of this, so please come by and check us out.

Edit- First Months Listing is free for all brands/companies. Get your T listed on SMT now!

Basically the same thing as Rumplo.com only not free.
  • cityhall

I don't understand why you're making everybody put the design on your(actually Tom Neal's) mockup and not just let them use the product shot they have instead. It makes your website look so boring compared to rumplo

Wow. Rumplo is great. Didn't know about that place.

Although not knowing about Rumplo is rookie mistake, luck would have it that we have slightly different ways of operating. We only allow 1 t-shirt per brand/band, have all our t-shirts on one page, and have implemented the 'shuffle' button to give everyone the opportunity of being at the top at anytime, whether new or old. Plus they don't seem to do band shirts, but tell me if I am wrong on that point.

This was simply to give all t-shirts the same opportunities on the page. So brands/bands with small or no budget can compete with larger bands/brands.

I agree Rumplo does look sexy tho

Seems weird you have launched a website with almost the same business model as rumplo yet you have never even heard of them? What ever happened to research before you start something....
  • Craig Robson

what is your average return on the sales? aka what, on average, can i expect to get for my £2?
  • Tom Neal

Usually I would support something like this, but the fact you are charging people for mocking designs on one of my templates doesn't seem legit. I made them to help creatives showcase and promote their own work.

I guess we weren't thorough enough. That's all I can say really

Good question. Well, we have only just launched tonight, so there is no structure in place to determine projections and the like for £2. We are basing our growth on the strength of the bands & brands we have in place already, and will be growing awareness of the site to the general public through the usual social network sites, and use magazine and newpapers articles to promote further.

Agree with Tom. Also who is selling a Limp Bizkit design. Shadytees.com

Tom you are totally right. We should have approached you before doing anything public with the templates. And making money from them does not seem fair to you as the creator. I will email you now and hopefully we can sort something out.

Hi Gaunty. The Limp Bizkit designs are sold via Atmo Apparel. They run Limp Bizkit merchandise outside of North America and are in support of this site as a means of promoting their merch. Thank you for your concern tho.
  • JeffByNight

i mean, its the exact same thing as rumpolo, except rumplo is better
  • Show Me Tees

Just want to say, thank you to all of you for your comments. Obviously there a few issues that need to be ironed-out. I didn't plan to make a replica of a website already out there, but I do think we have something unique to offer. Please bear with us.

dont listen to the feedback on here dude, its always negatvie unless your of a select few. Site look good man, I think SMT looks a bit easyer going than rumpolo, plus theres no searching involved, SMT is on 1 page, shufle button brings up the t's. I likes it dude.
  • InNovember

what is te £2 for? No ads?

Thanks for your comments InNovember. Yes we are ad free on the website, and we hope to advertise ourselves in magazines in the future too.
  • Obscure

I'm sorry but saying everything said on here is negative is not true. Yea sure there is an elitist few that you could out a turd out, if it was by a select few artist they would get praise for it however you need to understand this website is home to a ton of designers and artists that are top of the tee game and you should take criticism constructively and if you reply to it in a positive way then if will work for the better.

Yes showmetees.com is just a shop window on a single page. We don't have favourites, and don't have a featured section so everyone has as much chance of being noticed as everyone else. Glad you like it.

    shut the fuck up.

people on here are HONEST. dont always take honesty for negativity.

i agree with the comments above, but you seem to be taking critique well and are willing to work out the kinks to deliver a useful site, so more power to you.

Really? I would beg to differ. The feedback people give on here is pretty spot on. Tons of knowledgeable industry veterans on here who give great feedback and advice. Yeah, it's usually pretty blunt and direct feedback and advice yes, haha. But valuable none-the-less.
  • InNovember

just my opinion guys, jesus. 5 mins on here and i remember why i'm just lurker. Going back to deadwood now.
  • 8-bit ZOMBIE

Well, you kinda dissed the whole community. It's kinda ridiculous to say "Don't listen to anyone here." I've learned massive amounts of stuff from emptess/mintees. 8BZ wouldn't be here without these sites. I'm not mad about it, just standing up for the community. (Didn't even see Daniel's & Glenn's comments when I posted my comment. If I had, I wouldn't have posted.)

    Anyway, carry on!

Don't listen to him SMT, he's OBVI not one of the few.

If you click on the shuffle button really fast, it looks like all the tees are in a mosh pit

I had a long response typed out, but it's just not worth it anymore. Basically, you're wrong, feedback is honest, people on here know what they're talking about etc.

I'm gonna go watch Dexter now.
  • lonelykidsclub

I think it's a really clean, classy looking page. I love Rumplo as well, but I like that your website makes T-shirts go in a moshpit. I might sign up based on that.

Dexter is more awesome than this thread anyway, no worries =)

only thing i dont like about it having to be mocks is that some tees, with certain print methods cant be mocked to look exactly like the printed tee. i get it for uniformity though.
  • InNovember

miles to go, thats feedback, people just saying its a shit rumplo is not feedback.... or am i wrong again

watched 3 episodes of deadwood last night woooooo, im going to a near by river to look for gold... in scotland...

Saying its a shit Rumplo is feedback as they are nearly identical services. If this site can't be better than Rumplo, then it shouldn't exist. Its harsh feedback but its honest.

Ha ha ha! That's awesome. Maybe we can get brutal music to play when you hit 'shuffle'.

Ha ha! Seems this moshpit idea might take off. Would be great to have you on board Lonelykids.

That is true about the difficulty of showing all print methods. But you can link the tee to the front of your store, so people can see the real photos there.

I'm glad you get the uniformity of the site. Everyone on equal standing.
  • JeffByNight

@InNovember you do realize rumplo features thousands of shirts right?
  • danmumford

Not been around much here recently, but i have to say theres a lot of negativity in this thread for no good reason. Showmetees may be similar to Rumplo, but a bit of healthy competition never hurt anyone, and at the same time..surely another outlet for people to see your tees is no bad thing? I for one welcome it. just my two cents.
