All I know/remember is that Markus made that Blood type thingy on the top. I guess that's why he was tagged. About the so called rip, my opinion is that it might be heavily inspired. Or a coincidence like Anthony said.
sometimes there are one or two people get the inspiration from his favorite artist, as long as that person does not steal the design from the artist!as long as the execution of the picture is not exactly the same as his role model artists!i mean exact skull, exact face, and exact pose!he just trying to make his own version of cowboy in a doorway!as we know it like the case of HP lovercraft and Cthulhu pictures lately!idea together can come to anyone at the same time, but we can judge from the final results of the picture!this is just my opinion,so be easy on me...please?peace...

DrowningDesign said:So did Markus get ripped as well or did he sell stuff to them? cause that one in the bottom right hand corner is one of his. http://mintees.com/tees/319865-out-of-sight
It just looks like the artist kinda copied the same subject matter, but I'm not sure it can be called a rip. It does have a lot of similar elements, but those elements are kind of staples of cowboy culture...ram skulls, revolvers, cowboy hats, etc
It's not just the subject matter, it's the framing, composition, positioning of certain characters. Not once did I say exact rip but it's definitely more than just inspiration.
can you explain this shit, what is more than just inspiration and simply inspired? Can you define the difference between the two words? What then use the same icon in the remake with your own style is still in the call just inspiration? like this.
This is very different at all .. please stop this shit.

i think everything is clear now, it's not a rip and actually different. Sorry dude, i don't think so.
Some of you guys are taking this far too seriously, maybe because you can't read.

Let me tell you the difference. This is a case where the client came to me with a specific idea using an iconic character in which required me to re-imagine it.
I don't see how this is a rip. I'm not saying anything Pitchgrim has done is at all a rip in any way, but how is it any different for a client to ask an artist to 'rework' a similar, existing concept e.g. a cowboy near posts, to a client asking someone to 'rework' an existing icon e.g. ghost busters?
Huge differences between what some of you are stretching for. Not sure why you guys are so upset. You don't agree. Cool, I'm not asking you to or hating if you don't. Some of you are trying to hard to point a finger at me for just stating my opinion on two designs that are, I feel, too close for comfort.
For the tards who can't read, I never said its a direct rip.

I get it might be a lack of creativity, but rip it is not.
I'm even going to argue that I enjoy the bottom one better than the top. 3/4 turned body, non-curved doorway, and less skulls. Better haircut, IMHO.
i.e. - same motif/subject, -completely- different illustration.
Maybe I'm missing something but I'm lost on the GB Slimer thing....
