So, as some of you know, in July my van and the bulk of my t-shirt stock was stolen. Almost two weeks ago, I launched a Kickstarter to basically put a bunch of new tees + SEIBEI classic up for preorder so I could restock in time for New York Comic Con.

Much to my surprise, the SEIBEI Kickstarter reached its funding goal within the first 48 hours. Some of you reading this were some of the first backers, and I can't thank you enough. The whole experience has been overwhelming, and I've been amazed by the kindness of friends, longtime customers, and complete strangers alike.

We've now passed 180%, and now that I'll definitely be able to restock and get back on my feet, I'm not posting on Mintees because I need help - I'm posting because there are some good SEIBEI pieces to be had on the preorder cheap, and some rad Kickstarter exclusives by my friends Ashley Davis and Bryan Lee O'Malley (the creator of Scott Pilgrim, amongst other things) that will never be printed again:

There should also be one more guest tee premiering by another fucking rad artist.

Certainly not as well-priced as some of the Back To School sales going on, but people still seem to like it. Check out the SEIBEI Kickstarter here!

So amazing that Bryan Lee O'Malley did an exclusive for you! And so glad that everything is working out so well and that you are getting back on your feet David! Congrats man, way to stick with it. Great job on turning a negative into a positive.

And I still hope those assface thieves get what's coming to them!

Thanks so much, dude! I have been blown away by this whole thing as well - I've had to turn down a number of potential guest artists for the Kickstarter just because I didn't wanna overwhelm people with ten different exclusive tees, but Bryan hit me up pretty much right after it happened - incredibly nice guy, and he really took my concept and knocked it out of the park.
  • Craig Robson

congrats, forward thinking and a positive attitude wins through again.
  • Rockhart

Really awesome dude! Congrats on coming back bigger and stronger than before ;)
  • herky

    Awesome, love the exclusive designs.
  • Colemadethis

so excited for you (and that fucking baby line, SHIT YEAH!!)

    Congrats David!
Always been a huge fan of your stuff.
  • davidSEIBEI

thanks guys! It means a lot, and yeah, it'll be nice to bounce back stronger than ever - I'm currently in talks with a friend who runs a fulfillment service so I can just have all of the stressful order shipping stuff handled by more capable hands, and I'm working with someone on SEIBEI wallets too?

Cole - thanks so much, man. I've been meaning to do a baby/kids line for years (since most of my stuff is more kids' humor anyway); it's gonna be good to get that shit out there!
  • YemaYema

  • Go Ape Shirts

I'm happy to see all of this support for something that you most definitely deserve! You have really earned it with your dedication and insane amount of hard work. Much respect, always!

Shantz' take on a sebei classic would be crazy interesting. Probably a little too obvious, but I'd love to see him do something about zombie hunters!
  • davidSEIBEI

    thanks so much guys!

Shantz - you know I've been wanting to do a design with you for years dude! Let's talk post-Kickstarter - seibei at seibei.com is my email.
  • brain & machine

Congrats on getting double what you needed. It shows you have a strong fanbase and you're a great guy. Good to see people helping good people out these days!

  • davidSEIBEI

Just wanted to give this a bump since this is all ending Monday night!

We've blasted to 261% of the goal, which is amazing and so unexpected - if you wanna get yourself some Kickstarter exclusives like this heater by Chad Manzo, or other awesome artists, or some rad tees by me for a great price, check out the SEIBEI KICKSTARTER!

I absolutely love you. From the look of your kick starter page, I can't believe such goodness has come out of something so awful. The fact that so many fans have pulled together to help out a brand they love is inspirational and you 100% deserve all the backers that you've recieved.

I really hope that the final outcome of this is life changing for you and of course wish you the best of luck in future.
  • davidSEIBEI

Thank you so much! It's pretty overwhelming.

I think this will be pretty life-changing if everything goes according to plan. Once me and my friends ship everything out, I'm taking whatever else I can afford to print to NY Comic Con, and after I come home and do reprints, I'm sending the bulk of my stock to a fulfillment service to keep everything running smoothly as I grow. Shipping stuff in a timely fashion and managing inventory have always been my weak points (simply because I'm just one dude, who also has a day job), so it should be great to finally have a team of people handling that stuff after years of doing it myself.
