brandon day aka invocation clothing is a thief
Posted August 25th, 2011 by sonar
brandon day aka invocation clothing from pikeville kentucky is a proven ripper / thief. he has stolen artwork from multiple artists including kyle crawford, sam kaufman, scott gunner, matthew skiff and others and claimed it as his own. he has gone as far as to tip off an entire website line for line, simply replacing images with his own. as an artist ran t-shirt community we would like to warn anyone from doing business with this shady individual.
when confronted with evidence on his facebook he simply deletes the proof and calls those pointing out the truth "faggots" as well as calling a girl a "cunt"(stay classy kentucky)
here is the evidence accumulated so far...

dudes fucking weird as shit. he is posing as a church who is upset at invocation clothing saying the church is monitoring his behavior and shit? what?

Yeah, from the brief, yet unpleasant conversation I had with Brandon, he'd like to paint himself as an enemy of religion, cuz that's what all the rowdy rebel kids are into, I guess, and it's another way to get negative attention, but his belief system and arguments are just as stolen and copied as his designs. What kind of antireligious person believes in and follows Satan? That's a religion too, you fucknugget! It's not surprising he would fake all this negative outcry from "local churches". He probably doesn't even show up as a speck on their radar.

Hello Kelly,
This e-mail is in regards to a certain product you have on your store by Invocation Clothing.
Here is the link to the product you have available on your site. - http://www.blkmarketmerch.com/collections/mens/products/ride-or-die
I belong to an online community of designers, brand owners, and t-shirt enthusiasts called www.mintees.com. From time to time, we come across other t-shirt 'designers' in the world who profit off of illegal rips and stolen artwork. I'm sure you are familiar with the fact of stealing/ripping/plagiarizing t-shirt designs. The main reason I am e-mailing you is because the community have recently discovered that Brandon Day and his 'Invocation Clothing' brand operates under a plagiarized design arsenal of already established work from reputable designers. Some artists are taking legal action to have their designs removed from his store as well as any other place they are found on the internet. He even went as far as to steal an entire website's pre-made code. You can find full proof of his scam here. - http://mintees.com/talk/197664-brandon-day-aka-invocation-clothing-is-a-thief/1
The last image on this picture is Brandon's stolen skull design that is found on your store (posted main thread image here.)
Please know that this e-mail is not in anyway an attack at you or your website. I am simply notifying you that Brandon may be involved in some serious legal pursuit in the future, which I'm sure you would not want your website/name tied up in.
If you'd like to e-mail anyone in an effort to check the validity of this message. Here is the e-mail to Mintees' owner that you are free to confront with this issue. - robdobi@gmail.com
Thank you for your time and I hope you understand the seriousness of our effort to try and put an end to people like Brandon.
Take care and talk soon, Matt.

wow, that guy is MESSED UP. I was just reading through that forum and it's so obvious that he's the one posting the comments against himself. That's so psychologically fucked up. The dude is out of his mind.

Naa. I actually was typing it up, but Matt beat me to it.
Good job man! Hope they respond soon.

I contacted one and explained the situation. They said thanks, then promptly deleted my comments from their facebook.

Holy crap, what a joke. The whole loving-to-be-hated thing is so overwhelmingly pathetic. Ugh this dude is such a disgusting little chump.
DanielAndHisArt said about 1 year ago
Yea, none of them seem to care. I have seen a few band members from some of them writing comments on his wall when he posts his "keep hatin" bullshit.
Hopefully BlackHeart group will take some action, those dudes have been kind to me and others that have worked with them, and they frequent here, so hopefully they see our side.

I don't understand their mindset. Why would you want to be associated with someone like this and why would you want to be known as the band who has stolen merch? If they ever become popular at all, its only going to get worse for them. What if someone ripped one of their songs and started selling it? Would they still not care?

joke.

Kind of why i was not really into the "fuck you ripper" site.
It is a good cause, but the name a lone makes me not to even want to bookmark it.
Considering this is the only thread with all the evidence packed into one group, it is really the only thing we can do.
And i think that is what the for sale section is for. I dont really think it messes anything up. Thats just me though.
I would much rather do custom work, but if a band i enjoy picks up something from my for sale section on here i am just as excited to have my work being used/liked by people.
popmonkey said about 1 year ago
No. See, I don't even know enough about the bands to label them as such. All I saw was a bunch of names, but if you know they're all just local chump-metal bands then I guess it doesn't matter much. They'll all have an equally short shelf-life.

-He posted on topix boards posing as a preacher to stir up controversy to sell his clothes. Kinda ironic considering Brandon was once a youth minister a few years ago.
http://www.topix.com/forum/city/hazard-ky/TIFC9QAQF0736SRD4
-He bullies local christian bands and local bands in general. Either personally or getting his "fanbase" to do it for him. This is from a recent event on facebook. A local christian hardcore band had a fundraiser show for tour. Brandon spammed the event wall with atheist videos and "HAIL SATAN!" bullshit and got some of his friends to join in.
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=244456935565360
-Brandon often threatens anyone who has a negative opinion of invocation or him as a person. Most of his threats involve something along the lines of "COME TO THE SHOW IN WHITESBURG PUSSY AND I'LL SHOW U WAT A REAL MAN CAN DO!1" because he wouldn't dare fight his own fights alone. Most of the people he picks fights with are kids around the ages of 15-18. Girls are his favorite to pick fights with.
-He claims to work at Smalltown tattoo as an apprentice but you'll rarely find any work of his online. He's a glorified receptionist.
-Anyone in the area that tries to start up an art project or clothing line is met with Brandon calling them a "piece of shit" or spamming their big cartel/facebook or whatever they have with gay porn or having his "fans" flood them.
-He "sponsors" local music shows and plasters his name all over the flyers. Hawthorne Heights is doing a music video shoot here the 15th and guess who's name is on the flyer?
I hope this sheds a little more light on what kind of a person he is. Not only is he an art thief, he's an all around grade-A asshole. I hope this destroys what bit of success he's had.

Wow. Thanks for all of that insight. It comes as no surprise, but it's nice to know some more specifics on this small minded piece of shit subhuman. I would LOVE for Brandon to get his due and just have any and all of his influence and voice erased from existence. I want to see him reduced to a hermit's exile, run out of town on a rail after being tarred and feathered, tuned-up and put in his place for good. He is everything that is wrong with humanity wrapped up in one little bitter potato-sack and he needs a serious beating. Intimidation and bullying does not sit well with me and I relish the fact that the tables are turning on him and it appears that all his evil shit is being turned back on him with fiery vengeance. He is so full of hot wind when it comes to railing against the evils of "religion" and whatnot, but he is he really providing a better example of what humanity should strive for? Thievery, lying, ignorance, verbal assault, hypocrisy, falsifying evidence, bullying, intimidation... the list goes on.
Down with Invocation! Down with Brandon Day!

Does this HAVE to be an either/or situation? Can we not have both, pretty please!? ;)
DanielAndHisArt said about 1 year ago
If we can shut his bigcartel down, he will likely move to another store (storenvy maybe?) and we can keep reporting and doing the dame thing until he is selling his rips out of the truck of his parents car.
We need to start somewhere that will actually count/effect him in some way.

that part is kinda cool, just saying.
William Henry said about 1 year ago
Only the original creators can contact Big Cartel about getting the designs removed. I don't know if it will shut his entire store down either. I think it will just get the ripped designs removed. Maybe if BC sees all of the rips, they'll shut it down.
popmonkey said about 1 year ago
I don't like bullying of ANY kind. So, not cool in my book.

Truth. No one should be looked down upon for their beliefs.. It shows how extremely shallow and close-minded brandon is.
That being said, I want to thank everyone again for bringing this to the light and showing everyone what a small handful of us have known for quite some time. Keep up the fight, i'm 100% behind you guys.

There's bullying and there's justice. Please tell me you know the difference between the two, cuz I don't have time for an extended lesson on the subject, but here's a brief primer: Justice is having a total creepsack like Brandon get what he deserves for the lying, thieving and bullying he has initiated and encouraged (i.e. some of the retribution I had listed, and whatever else creative folk might come up with). BULLYING is throwing your weight around and picking on or harassing others for their differences, weaknesses, etc to make yourself feel better when you know deep down inside you're a spectacular shit-biscuit and to draw attention to yourself through negativity and hatred. Tell me that those of us hoping Brandon gets what he deserves is the same as the actions and practices he's undertaken with no regret or vision of his error and I'll have no choice but to (as kindly as possible, without insulting) see you as someone who's perceptions are just a bit distorted and out of line with my worldview.
