brandon day aka invocation clothing from pikeville kentucky is a proven ripper / thief. he has stolen artwork from multiple artists including kyle crawford, sam kaufman, scott gunner, matthew skiff and others and claimed it as his own. he has gone as far as to tip off an entire website line for line, simply replacing images with his own. as an artist ran t-shirt community we would like to warn anyone from doing business with this shady individual.

when confronted with evidence on his facebook he simply deletes the proof and calls those pointing out the truth "faggots" as well as calling a girl a "cunt"(stay classy kentucky)

here is the evidence accumulated so far...

    Digg it and comment!

This redirects to this thread, not to digg.

If any of Brandon's claims were true, he wouldn't act anything remotely like the way he is acting. If he was in the right, he wouldn't be trying to hide all the evidence and doing everything he can to cover this up.

More like, "I love Kyle and want to be Kyle but I have no talent, so I'll steal his work."

I also found that if you look at the cached version of The Jovian Atmosphere big cartel page, you will see that "Space Zombie t-shirt" last appeared on there on August 30th. Thats when we found out about that particular rip. Its not there anymore if you look.

Also, he "liked/loved" Kyle's Asking Alexandria tee when it was originally posted on Emptees and never said a word - http://mintees.com/tees/liked-by/156451-invocation/16/40?order=recent

His tee and Kyle's look insanely a like and he doesnt say anything to Kyle the day Kyle uploads it to Emptees?

Dude he's just a nice guy who doesn't want to call Kyle out on ripping him. He was just afraid that if he called Kyle out he wouldn't be allowed to buy any more EZ shirts :/

trying to match dates with the shirts that he ripped being posted and seeing if he liked any shirts on those specific dates....if he did then that would mean he probably at least saw the shirts on the site (mintees or emptees...tracking back to emptees days makes things a bit harder)
  • Adhesive Hippo

Doubt it. I would just stick to what we know, to not start making accusations on random designs.

i had this exact thought w/ the spaceman design, but unfortunately we don't have that implemented. i can ask jared if we can see if brandon indeed "loved" it.

if there are ways to do that...even though a person un-liked it after the fact...could clear some things up!

I guess the point is he wouldn't like a shirt thats insanely similar to one of 'his own' without saying a thing, point and case. What a scumbag.

For my money I also include Edgil...the reveal just kept going.

This is from his first design post which is timestamped from about a year ago and shows how he was just starting out. Plus, he charged $30. Clearly he's been designing and stuff since 2007.

If you read on in that, Obscure later states "$30 wouldn't even get you a sandwhich. Put something to cheap and people wonder why it is so cheap and think something might be fishy with it:)"

    Oh, the irony.

I was talking with a friend about this whole Brandon Day thing today.
-He told me that Brandon Day used his Invocation followers to bully a local clothing store that refused to carry his brand.
-The whole 'church protests Invocation' topix thread is blatantly self promotion. It was started for shock value publicity. All the advertisement for his brand is pretty much based around being a dick/shock value.
-He harasses any of the local kids that try to get into this territory of art until they just give up.

I genuinely think the design world is better off without this guy. I think there needs to be pretty strong ramifications for the rips this time. Because if the dude walks away with a slap on the wrist again, he's just going to start up again later.

None of that surprises me. I really hope all this does stop him for good, too many people are aware of him now and it seems that rips are coming out of his ears. Everyone just needs to keep at it and he will run away with his tail inbetween his legs. Although I somehow see him popping up again in the future with more trouble.
  • miles to go

in light of all of this, i really hope some brand owners actually take the time to go file copyrights on their bought artwork or artists copyrighting their work. its $35 a piece to do online.

  • Brendon Rush

Adhesive Hippo said:^So? They're his mockups, try it with a different design maybe?

yeah. plus like it was said earlier his mockups were released after the date brandon 'created' that file, sums it all up, if he carries on denying this shit then he really is a moron.
  • Killer Napkins

that might be from Tom Neal's mock up though.. because he is in England
  • ExaltedByMark.

Fuck You Ripper said:Your time stamps tell us everything we need to know Brandon

    That's why I posted this

Brandon Day's time stamp said that he did in 2007 and there is no way that's possible because....

    We have time stamps too!

No way the Space Man design was done in 2008 because Tom hadn't released this yet. Give up already Brandon.
  • Fuck You Ripper

Adhesive Hippo said:^So? They're his mockups, try it with a different design maybe?

It proves that the "date created" timestamp was saved at the same time the "lat and long" were saved with the file. Meaning that 100% the date created that he was pointing out couldnt have been from him
  • Fuck You Ripper

Ugh. Bad news on the BreakFace Nazi Scum rip. It turns out Shantz did sell that to them. Honest mistake though

I had asked Breakface who designed it when it first came up but my facebook account got deleted before they could reply to me
