I think despite what facebook does, google+ is going to take over when it's opened to the public. Google has failed a bit with social networking in the past, but aside from that I can't think of a market they haven't entered and dominated yet.
The reason I see it getting popular is because google nearly always is capable of taking the features that people enjoy on other sites and getting rid of all the fluff and BS, so I dunno. I don't think it would be an over-night transition, but with all the problems that facebook has had in the past with security, changing features without users requesting the changes, etc... I can't say for sure that it won't become the next my_____. That remains to be seen, but this thread is about facebook/skype, so I'll shut up now.

Fixed ;)
Oh, stop! People will talk :P
There was one weird glitch that i remember from using it.
Both had headphones in. I could hear brad talking/background noise. He could hear the same, PLUS what was happening on my computer.
Not a massive issue, but it did make my porn watching rather uncomfortable.
I can see Google + catching on, but never amount to the impact Facebook has made. But Google owns Youtube, Gmail, Google Search of course, Google Docs, Google Reader, Google Calendar and so much more. Millions and millions of people use at least one of these services per day, and I think Google + will unify all of their services, making it a massive social network - regardless if people are as involved with it as they are with Facebook
It has to eventually. People's needs and wants change over time, and I think Google really listens to their users, where facebook just kinda throws shit on they think you'd want.

Remember when this huge powerhouse called Facebook took over? And then Myspace started doing things that nobody wanted? Could happen again.
But myspace never hit that critical mass of people, facebook has its shear reach in its favour. Plus facebook is full of photos and things complied from multiple users. That's a lot for people to move on from. When i left myspace i left behind band request and thats it. If it did disappear it would be a slow grinding decline I think.
For Facebook to disappear there would have to be something better than it that's taking it's place. That's what happened with the Myspace --> Facebook situation. I can't ever see Google + being that "thing" that is bigger and better than Facebook, but I guess we're all just going to have to wait and see.

Yup! and apparently Facebook and Microsoft has more in store. Here's to hoping for a Excel-Farmville Mash-up!

That's an interesting question. Isn't skype on its own capable of that?
Smiths Canvas said about 1 year ago
Yeah I think skype can do that so I'm guessing it would adopt that on Facebook.
I don't see Google+ catching on either. I think it can be huge, but not J.T. billion dollar cool big.
