Crooks.

The Story - These guys were selling 10 tees by one artist for one month. Following Greg Abbott's successful month I decided to be a part of it. They featured my 10 tees and people ordered, Fans, friends and family. These guys failed to deliver any tees and now I am receiving a lot of emails from rightfully disgruntled customers. They ripped everyone off. I have learnt that they might be the guys behind Teextile who did a very similar thing when the company fell apart.
They now ignore my emails, I have received no payment and no tees.
I want to gather as much info as I can on these guys. If you have anything, get it posted. Greg, I'd like to hear your experiences on this subject. I am told the tees they prnted for you were terrible quality and took an age to get delivered.

their email: thirteesubmission@gmail.com or info@thirtee.com

Pretty shitty behaviour.

that really sucks dude, especially since their bad work is associated so strongly with your name.
  • wotto

Yes I know. I hate it, I need to gather info and then hopefully I can release the hounds.
  • Obscure

    Sorry to hear that Wotto:(
  • collisiontheory

holy crap! they've been emailing me in the past to be part of their roster. I'm glad I haven't said yes after reading this. Hope it works out in the end for you!

    RELEASE THE HOUNDS!
  • chriskillerartworx

that is damn sad wotto! hope they all get at least their money back. makes me very angry at the same time that there are still companies out ripping designers off big time.
  • jublin

ugh. I can't believe there are people out there like this. Either they think they can get away with making a quick buck, ripping others off, then vanishing into thin air or they get in over their heads and aren't man enough to step up to the consequences. No matter what the situation is, it's unacceptable.

    come on team internet...
    ASSEMBLE!!
  • WinterArtwork

Damn! and I remember emailing you asking about them!

Sorry to hear this man :(
  • gaunty

It always sounded pretty dodgy to me. Bad luck dude, hope you get somethig sorted out.
  • wotto

Frankly I don't care about my situation, I can chase them when I am ready but the fans and people who took the time to buy my stuff got robbed and that makes my blood boil.

I am still hoping Greg will comment as he seems to have had an OK experience with them, although his customers emailed me too complaining about standards and delivery times.

I bought three tees when Greg did it. I ordered about half way in the month and it took over a month and 5-6 emails after being told three times they will ship tomorrow I finally received my daughters tees. I am a screenprinter so I tend to nitpick but the quality and feel was horrible and I guess they didn't have my design because when received 1 of them wasn't even the right design. Sorry to hear I figured this was coming. And the email I have is the same one posted here
  • Adhesive Hippo

Wow that sucks big time. Hope you can work this out.

I was so close to buying one of Greg's, but the site just seemed off and poor quality. Hopefully you can figure something out once we amass a great army against another fiend. Good luck, sir

Really unfortunate for the fans who bought, plus you as well. When they had put a post on here looking for designs I responded and they seemed pretty eager at first, then stopped replying back after a few days. Glad I never sent anything in and I hope no one else from this forum did at that time either.
  • qetza

    That really blows.

    Sorry to hear about this.
  • ExaltedByMark.

I was going to order a few Abbott and a few of your Tees Wotto but since I won a contest on here that the dude from Thirtee.com had about 'guess the next Thirtee artist' I wanted to wait to see the quality of the print.

Never received the shirt so I'm super glad I didn't order.

This is freaking awful though, so sorry guys.
  • Perception Apparel

That's horrible, I hate people like this. I too almost ordered some :/
  • Amaan Davis

I would be pissed enough to drive there. lol google maps..
  • Lead and Lines

That is ridiculous. I hope things get straigtened out and the guys behind this receive a strong right hook to the face.
  • William Henry

If the Teextile dudes are really behind this site, I wouldn't hold my breath when it comes to getting any of this straightened out. Those dudes are scam artists.
  • dobi

it looks like dbldragon was going to be the next featured artist...

  • SteveOramA

Yeah, I received the "join us...be a part of..." emails from them as well. I have learned from other dumb shirt site ideas to wait and see what happens.

After a few artists have tried it out I prefer to wait around for posts like this. Good thing I did.
Sadly, you are the example for this particular "company".
    Get 'em Craig!

Wait he changed his name from Mike Philpott to Frank?!
  • davidfromdallas

This is so damn unfortunate. For those of you who don't know, this is David Soames from DBLDRAGON. We are a creative collective of artists/designers who collaborate together on a multitude of projects - I being the main dude who designs shirts (I'm also an active designer on threadless and woot).

Our company was set up to have the month of May. Mike told me to send him ten designs, a short bio, and some branding elements; upon receiving the information, he said that the site would go live May 1st. On May 5th, the site did go live - but only with 5 of the designs, a fake logo that his "programmer" created and Wotto's bio. As much as I like and respect Wotto, I wanted our own bio to be there so when people came to the site and saw "DBLDRAGON" and our shirt designs, it would read "This month's artist is Wotto."

Long story short, I pestered "Mike" for a few weeks and rarely received anything back. Near the end of May (after he'd had the site live with the logo he designed for us, Wotto's bio, and only 5 of our tee designs), he did finally send a reply:

    Hi David

Sorry for the delay, sales for the site have been doing well, and we have been swamp getting the orders for the previous months out. I will have my guy wonk on the finishing the site this week, we just doint want to shut it down when we have sales coming in. I will keep you updated.

    thank you

    Mike

Regardless of the typos, that was the last time I heard from Mike. For the next few weeks, I received emails from both fans and randoms, inquiring about the status of the site and why we had been extended into a second month. Again, Mike remained completely unresponsive, and I pretty much gave up the little energy I had left in salvaging our presence.

I got an email this afternoon from Rob Dobi, who was nice enough to inform me of this pathetic scam and Wotto's blog. I'm so sad to see how scummy some people are in this world and how low they will go to not only rip you off, but others as well. I have the utmost respect for both Greg and Craig (who was kind enough to lend me a bit of advice prior to our May launch on Thirtee), and it amazes me how someone would go and do this.

Thanks again to all those involved and aware for the support. I'm aware that scams occur each and every day, but I'm hoping that we can resolve this one soon; if not, I hope it's a long time before something like this happens again.

    Sorry for the long post.
  • dobi

apparently "mike" philipott doesn't exist, unless he is frank's brother and they live together.

frank philipott's number is listed here, and it is his actual number http://www.parcom.net/services/domain_registration/whois/whois.cgi?action=display&dom=grouptee&ext=net&dispWhois=whois.tucows.com
  • quakerninja

Did you even print shirts? Why did no orders go out? I'm confused.

oh. I didn't know my-soti did fulfillment. Not the best vender dudes.
  • jublin

wtf at him making a logo for you guys, David. Did you keep it?
