the fact that you deleted your book thread in response to some mild skepticism is kinda suspect. Nothing i read was even slightly rude or confrontational. you may have "tons of book sales" but you probably need to develop a thicker skin before putting yourself out there.

im sure he is getting tons of marketing for this.

I think the biggest mistake he made was marketing it on this site.

When someone comes up with a product that gets the overwhelming approval of this community, that bad ass should write a book about it.

    In the ebook?

Still cannot understand how it was proofread by his teacher but has many errors as pointed out by people on twitter and here.

Sure its only 2 dollars, but still. Get that shit right before you sell it.

too much about making real money. if it's aimed at teens it shouldn't be about making money. more about pursuing their dreams instead. when you're a teen is the best time to follow your dreams due to not needing real money since you typically are living with your parents. that's just my opinion. also don't boast your twitter followers when they're bought. all anyone has to do is look at who follows you to see that they're almost all fake profiles. i guess that is how people can guarantee X amount of followers in 48 hours. The shirts are really solid, so be honest and stay humble and you will have a better chance at being successful down the line.

    ^Agreed.

Also, this thread makes me realize who I love/hate on this website.

I was one of the first people to buy the book. It's really geared toward Teens who have absolutely no idea what they are doing. A lot of it is like what I expected, "Don't let anyone tell you you can't". Also the grammatical errors were hard to look at since the book was for sale and such. I told him about it on twitter immediately, he didn't like it. I emailed him all the errors from the start of the book to the beginning of Key #2. Things like "daily bases", "dought", your instead of you're, and improper sentence structure. I know that sounds like I'm analyzing the book too much, but I just assumed he wanted to be professional. I'm also only a young teenager, 14, and the content he provides are not secrets. More or less just how you think of yourself and estimates of how things might cost. I'm only about 18 pages in, but he seems very affirmed with everything he says, which in some parts comes across as "aggressive"..

But that's just my take. :)

Every business book is complete BS. It's hard to find honest writing about business.
  • dobi

also, no two businesses are the same, so no specific strategy that one uses works for the other.

More so relative to marketing / advertising than general business but I learned so much from this book

"i have mixed feelings on it as well.

i have run a somewhat successful brand for the better part of 7 years now and i'd feel nowhere near confident releasing a book about having it all figured out at 30, much less 16.

i think being that young makes you awfully defensive when people start questioning stuff. when i was 16 i was more concerned about zits and ska shows, i couldn't imagine people twice my age questioning my work."

This. Im 18 and I come across as an asshole because i get all defensive. when 30+ year old men are laying stuff straight it's difficult.

good on Peter I say. Trying doesn't harm I suppose. I can understand that he got overwhelmed and deleted the thread, natural thing

I still don't understand how his paltry 15,000 hits pay out $1000 a month -.-

Even with dropping AdSense(which yes, is a poor revenue outlet, but if you're using it on a high-traffic site, you're generally using it as a means of just paying off your website/hosting fees anyway) and picking up outside advertising, his advertising is all small stuff and nothing of real note so I just honestly don't understand how that small bit could bring in that much, unless his advertisers are paying way too much for such menial ad space.

It is most likely embellished. He uses tiny host to all advertising images, there is no rotation, and most posts do not have any comments. So........
