Hey Mintees,

with the Spring and Summer approaching quickly, we'll subscribe to many outside events in the next weeks.
I was wondering how indie brands around here were setting up their tents and displays?

It would be fun if everyone post some pictures of their setup. I love to see the branding of a company and how its booth can be unique!

Great! Is this a printed vinyl banner on the front?

Yeah, it was incredibly cheap...got it printed at Fedex/Kinkos. You can tell them how big and where to put the grommets and everything. They also printed on corrugated vinyl for other signs.

I created a custom rig for the front sign that bolted to the tent frame...it was easy but i'm too tired to find pix or explain how :)

Thanks, it's not optimal but it worked nicely...my advice is to treat your tent like a mini store, not a tent. The more store like you make it, the more receptive your customers will be to it

Yes, that's what I had in mind too. I want to make it really stand out of the crowd.

We've been doing shows pretty much every weekend for the last two years so if you have any questions I'd be happy to help. There are a lot of things that people don't think about when planning for their first show, so it's better to learn from other people's (costly) mistakes.

Jeez i dunno how you do that many shows...the ones I did pretty much ruined me...hardest work I've done in a loooooong time!

Haha, the easiest explanation is that I've completely lost my mind. On the plus side, we have an extended family pretty much anywhere we travel at this point. The lifestyle certainly isn't for everyone, and it's evident fairly quickly.

That spiral is great :)

Little things like that can make a huge difference...definitely check out Fedex/Kinkos for sign printing...like your little price signs could be printed on corrugated plastic (like what those Open House and Garage Sale signs are printed on) all nice and colorful with your logo, price, credit card logos, etc....all for like $20 bucks each. You could cover your table with printed vinyl for less than $100! It's surprisingly cheap. Just upgrade a little at a time, it doesn't have to be perfect the first few times you do it.

This is my booth from a trade show in vegas. the racks cost me about $300 from the container store, but look pretty good. they are kind of a pain to setup though, so I usually only use them for multiple day events.

Fuzzy Ink just does so many shows as an excuse to cruise around residential neighborhoods in a full-size van.

We have a few people that have helped us before, but we're honestly at most of the shows. You should come out to the Renegade Brooklyn show in June if you're around.

I'll be there for sure, the park is 10 blocks away.
I'm actually launching a new project that will be there! Just got some confirmation this morning!

This is my booth from around a year ago. The set up didn't work too well. It's definitely way more important to have the shirt designs in your face than on a rack.
