So I've heard people say they have trouble with texturizing stuff in illustrator and I was wondering if anybody would be interested in buying a texture pack if I put one together. They would be EPS files so that they would open in illustrator, photoshop and other programs as well(not just vector programs). Everything would be print ready you would just need to apply it to your designs as desired.

alot of people like free stuff
    hint*
  • Gianni

I wouldn't mind giving away a couple for free, but I was thinking roughly somewhere between 25-100 different textures.

But then I could release my own pack for a fraction of the price and kill your market!

Hey, that's how the world works.
  • Bob Kawa

I would have bought even before you mentioned how many textures were in it. What kind of price are we talking about here?
  • treycook

    Sell it baby!

And screw people who intentionally undercut other designers. We all need to make a living and should be trying to bring the design market back up, rather than ruining it even more.

(I know you're just joking Matt!)
  • Gianni

Thanks for the support guys. Right now I'm thinking it would be $10-$25 depending on what I include. I think I would include the original images too so that people can do there own thing as well.
  • Evanimal

You guys also know you can import bitmaps and Tiffs to use as textures in Illustrator right? They stay as such so no points all over them, and you can change their colors. This is the standard for texturing in vector.

But I support you as well buddy!

thats gonna be one bigass file...you better split that into 20 + illustrator files

Each texture would be a different file.

Thanks, Evan. That is one of the easiest way of doing it depending on what you're trying to achieve. I wasn't trying to hide the process from anyone. Just trying to put together a quality pack.
  • Evanimal

No totally, sorry to hijack! I can't wait to see what you come up with. The Gomedia vector textures have served me well and I could definitely use a fresh batch!

But if I export as a bmp or tiff I still have to vectorize it don't I? It doesn't just transfer over directly into vector format, correct?

Should be working now. Use the link in the original post and ignore the link in the comment.
  • William Henry

Can you post the real link? Redirects seem to rarely work for me.

  • Jason Carne

This looks good Gianni, I'd buy the pack if you made it.

Nevermind. Finally got it to work after I loaded the link with a proxy.
  • reyrey78921

    definitely gonna use it
    thanks dude
  • gurven

    I would buy.
    also thanks for the freebee!
  • Tim

We could collect some textures from some of the guys who use really cool textures for everyone. Like 30 different textures from everyone for everyone.

I'd ne down for supporting stuff like that.

And def. I will purchase your textures.
  • Gianni

    Glad you guys like it.
  • Gianni

130 downloads and only 7 comments! I would love to hear more of what you guys think especially if you don't care for it.
  • Scott Gunner

There's not really much to it to be honest, unless it's my software playing up
  • Tom Philibeck

yeah, at first I thought it was a blank page. I had to zoom in to see the texture. It's made well, but there isn't enough texture.
  • Bob Kawa

I would buy it man, Im using the free one right now on some stuff. Love how light it is.

    Thought the same.

And thanks for sharing Gianni. Looking forward for the final pack.
  • Gianni

I hear ya guys. This one was meant to be a light distress. The pack would have varying weights and styles.
  • labyrinth

I just used the free one, it was great. Thanks!
  • Kolby

    I like it.
