either way i hope this maybe speeds them up releasing the new phone, or at least the specs for the new iphone. I am due up for an upgrade!

The release cycle has consistently been every June/July ish for iPhones, September for iPods. I imagine they'll be sticking to that. Hold in there! Not too far off.

At least wait until June 22nd to see if you are going to switch. Rumors are that they are releasing 2 new iphones. One for At&T and one of Verizon and all the other networks. Well see though...

i think we finally see the legit prototype here.

ive stalked this phone the past few months as i hate my G1, i love android but having the very first android phone means having the worst phone as well.

i chat will be sweet being able to video chat with friends and family while out on the road... just not driving of course hahaha, this could breed a whole new danger above txting while driving lol

its gonna hit in june/july just like all the other iphones in the past. but i bet they start hyping it faster now that theyve been outed.

Yeah, I agree. I think the release of it alone would probably be just as buzz-worthy as this has been (if not more), but I was just throwing the idea out there haha.

Apple knows there are better ways to get hype then leaving a prototype in a bar.
either way its a nice looking phone, its a bit strange that they would ditch the curves of the iphone and give it kinda sharp corners. That would make me double think purchasing it.

yes, im sure they would leak the phone into the wild to create buzz for the iphone which has become a household name since its intial release in 2008

I wouldn't have thought they would square it out so much. I still like the look of it if that is it, but it seems overly squared out from what they would really release, which in my eyes I would guess it would just me a way thinner version of what we already have now.

I'd say early prototype at best. Just by looking at the buttons, it doesn't seem to match with apple's branding of their hardware.

If you look at all the newer generation Apple products they all follow this new sleek square like edges. I think it is catching up and following the rest of the Apple line up perfectly.

Looks exciting, but I'm still not sure if I would want to merge my phone and my music player into one device.
I like having seperate batteries, so even if I listen to my iPod till it runs out, I'll still have a phone.. That's been my main objection to the whole iphone concept since day one..

One the other hand, it looks pretty damn awesome..

Well, everyone has been complaining about the iphone not having a front camera, a flash, removable battery.. and from the looks of it, it does have a flash and a front camera, so why not add a removable battery too?

People complained at first about the battery, but the life isn't bad and every new gen they increase battery life. Why would they decide now to make a removable battery when iPad doesn't have one, and none of the new Macbook lines have them?

I don't see any indication for a removable battery. The information says how tightly constructed it is, and all the videos seem to show that it doesn't have a detachable battery. If there was a detachable battery the guy from Gizmodo would of definitely mentioned that in the video or in any of the article.

I wish the body of this, like the current macbook pro's was one piece of machined aluminum. I'm hoping these concepts phones aren't final, and the seams disappear. Either way I will get one of these when the contract (for my 3G iPhone) ends in February.
