I'm interested to see how this brand plays out. Owl based clothing is interesting.

yea, sweatpants are most definitely on the cards. i have a few ideas of things i want to do, some are way in the future in the forms of cut and sew, completely custom pants and hoodies, jackets and shirts etc. all put together with night owls in mind.
the first few t-shirts will have no-nonsense, simple and clean designs. but for the next run i'm working on more involved designs still keeping them simple as possible.
not quite sure i get what you mean dude? what hurdle? i got 5,000 cards for £300 which is super cheap for the cut, stock and finishing options i chose. so i took advantage of ordering more for less.
i'm also interested!...

I want some of those business cards NOW.

i know what you mean about the cotton thing! who knows... if things take off a custom zip hoodie could well be on the horizon.
thanks dude! fingers crossed! i'm waiting on a printer to get back to me at the moment with a quote for stickers.
once i have these printed i may send out little promo packs to people that want them; few cards and some stickers.

that's what i like to hear! yea, i'm a late worker myself. i've worked some crazy hours and even 3-days in a row all nighters. this work ethic, my interest in fashion and my ability as an artworker/designer has lead me down this path.
i mentioned when replying to callum that i might send out small promo packs of cards and stickers once i have them printed.
this year will probably consist mostly of t-shirts with a fair few surprise items here and there to gauge how well they sell to then take a look at how to tackle 2011. obviously if things do well quickly and people are feeding back that they want certain items then they will probably come sooner.
not every single design, no. i'm still toying around with how to release the shirts, but at the moment they will be small collections that work off a theme for that particular release.
no, your not knocking my direction because i've already explored that avenue and already have some ideas to incorporate into the brand ;) i initially did this research when deciding which nocturnal animal/creature to use for the main identity and i only chose the owl just because of it's link with 'night owl' (how we refer to people who stay up late). so don't worry on that front. you won't be overloaded with owls. i'm thinking of doing a logo drop on my less owl related t-shirts, kinda like how johnny cupcakes uses his logo in inventive ways.
for the next release after the launch, and each release thereafter i plan to have two distinct feels to the designs. one will be very clean and simple and the other more illustrative and involved. this will hopefully cater to everyones design tastes within particular age ranges.
and thanks for the support, it's very much appreciated!

"Third Shift Clothing is an up and coming clothing line that represents the ultimate late night lifestyle. From closing down the bars to cramming for that exam the night before, Third Shift has been keeping it fresh on the streets of Burlington, Vermont since 2004. It's all good here at Third Shift, as long as it's late night."

There is nothing wrong with his name. It rolls really nice. And i'm sure it meshes with the concept. But hay maybe it should be Owl Explosion or something that is as strong of a household name as Zebra Thunder.

yea, i've seen that design… loud and obnoxious right? when i was putting the finishing touches to my brand ID, all of a sudden there was a flurry of owl designs coming out and i was like aarrgh. hahah.
nice work on the design. you come up with the tag line midnight society? i like it.
VIHMIRU said about 3 years ago
a hardcore night owl! thanks for the good luck!
VIHMIRU said about 3 years ago
what are you trying to say? hahah. i don't release anything until i'm 100% happy with it and i've been working on the ID and how the website should look for months. i've even coded custom 404 pages.
yea, these kinds of posts inspire me big time, i hope it does the same for you and you get cracking on with your brand.
thanks for the good luck… same to you also.

i think people that have trouble remembering it will eventually learn it and it'll stick. it is original and unique so it only works in my favour because it can't be confused with anything else.
thanks for the feedback, i appreciate it.
VIHMIRU said about 3 years ago
thanks very much… so no pressure then? heheh. hopefully it won't disappoint! i think its a catchy name too :)

glad you approve! yea, the first guy to comment mentioned obey. italicised type in a rectangle, who knew! lol. i guess my owl may appear slightly like the obey face but they are two different illustration styles using the same black line work feel.

thanks miss robinson :)

it's original and unique so it cannot be compared to or confused with anything else and because it is unique its only association will be with my brand.
so, no meaning other than the above really.
